New Trees and Shrubs for 2026
We are in the deepest darkest depths of winter, and in need of a glimmer of hope for spring.
All of our pre-ordered trees and shrubs for the 2026 season have been uploaded onto the website and are ready for your perusal.
We are here to highlight some of the new varieties to Riverdene for 2026.
Dr. Ruppel Clematis
A classic, reliable clematis with large soft pink blooms accented by deeper rose stripes. This vigorous climber flowers in late spring and again later in the season, making it an excellent choice for trellises, fences, and arbors in protected locations.

Winecraft Gold Smokebush
An eye-catching shrub with glowing golden foliage that holds its colour throughout the season. Winecraft Gold offers excellent drought tolerance once established and provides strong contrast in landscape plantings, with airy “smoke-like” blooms adding summer interest.

FlowerFull® Hydrangea
A compact hydrangea bred for exceptional flower coverage. FlowerFull lives up to its name with abundant blooms and a tidy growth habit, making it ideal for smaller gardens, foundation plantings, and mixed borders.

DreamCloud® Reblooming Hydrangea
This hydrangea delivers soft, cloud-like blooms and the added bonus of reblooming, extending colour later into the season. Its manageable size and repeat flowering make it a great option for gardeners looking for long-lasting impact.

Spring Sizzle® Hydrangea
Spring Sizzle stands out for its strong early-season colour and sturdy stems. Bred for resilience and reliable flowering, it brings fresh energy to spring and early summer landscapes while maintaining good structure through the season.

Fairytrail® Bride Cascading Hydrangea
A truly unique hydrangea with a trailing, cascading habit. Fairytrail Bride is perfect for containers, raised beds, and walls where its graceful form and white blooms can spill naturally, adding elegance and softness to the garden.

Galaxy Magnolia
Galaxy Magnolia offers stunning, tulip-shaped blooms in rich pink-purple tones. With a more upright form than many magnolias, it works beautifully as a small feature tree, bringing early-season drama before most landscapes wake up.

Royal Weeping Crabapple
This ornamental crabapple combines a graceful weeping form with spring blossoms and strong seasonal interest. Its architectural shape makes it a striking focal point in both formal and naturalistic landscapes.

Weeping White Spruce
A dramatic evergreen with a narrow, cascading form that adds winter interest year-round. This spruce works well as a vertical accent and is especially effective in snowy prairie landscapes where structure matters.

The Blues® Weeping Blue Spruce
Known for its intense blue needles and flowing weeping habit, this spruce is both bold and elegant. It provides four-season interest and makes a standout specimen tree when given space to show its natural form.

Little Spark® Spirea
A compact spirea with fine texture and vibrant seasonal colour. Little Spark is low maintenance, drought tolerant, and well-suited for borders, mass plantings, and smaller urban gardens.

We hope you're as excited for these new (to us) varieties as we are. Some will need some extra care, but are sure to be worth the effort.
