Unboxing Your Plants

Unboxing Your New Plants

Your plants have been carefully packed for their journey to you. Follow these steps to help give them the best start in their new home!

Step 1: Open the Box Carefully

First, make sure the box is right-side up. We've placed stickers on it indicating which way is up. We make sure it leaves the store right-side-up, but sometimes accidents happen during transit. Carefully open the box (scissors are less likely to accidentally cut your plants). Gently remove any packing material and lift your plant out by the pot or pot cover — not the stems or leaves.

Step 2: Inspect Your Plants

Remove your plants from the plant cover (if it's been included) and check your plants for any damage from transit. A few yellowed or dropped leaves are completely normal after shipping — plants can experience stress during travel. If you notice significant damage, please contact us right away.

Step 3: Check the Soil

Feel the soil moisture. If it's very dry, give your plant a gentle watering and allow excess water to drain fully. If it's still moist, wait a day or two before watering.

Step 4: Find the Right Spot

Place your plant in a bright location out of direct harsh sunlight for the first few days. This helps it adjust gradually to its new environment without added stress. Refer to your plant specific care guide (arrived via email) for details on where it should be for permanent placement!

Step 5: Give It Time

Be patient! It's normal for plants to look a little tired after shipping. Avoid repotting, fertilizing, or moving your plant for at least 1–2 weeks while it settles in.
