4-6' width
Vigorous climbing rose. Growth will be reduced in colder climates.
These roses bloom from summer through fall with repeat flowering. They are great to add to a cottage style garden. Pair with blues, purples and whites for a romantic garden feel.
To keep this rose looking its best all season, here are some guidelines for care:
Water deeply 1-2x per week. Roses prefer consistent moisture but not soggy soil.
Fertilize every 3-4 weeks (easiest with a water soluble fertilizer)
Long blooming
Attracts pollinators
Deadheading encourages repeat blooms
Train along a trellis, fence, arbor or wall
David Austin roses are not hardy, but can over winter with particular care. Here are some tips increase your success with overwintering:
Stop fertilizing by early August
After a hard frost, mound 8-10" of mulch around the base of the plant
In exposed sites, add straw or leaves for added insulation
Remove protection gradually in spring
Consider planting near a south-facing wall or a sheltered garden for improved winter survival
When pruning, keep strong main canes and train new canes along support
