This tropical plant is not hardy outdoors and should be treated as a house plant. You can gently scratch words into the leaf surface, and the marks remain visible as the leaf ages.

To keep this tropical looking its best all season, here are some guidelines for care:
Water regularly. Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid soggy soil.
Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during active growth with a water soluble All Purpose fertilizer.
Rarely blooms as a houseplant
Responds well to pruning and can be pinched or trimmed to keep it fuller and more compact.
