Mentha suaveolens variegata
Full to Part Sun
12-18" height
12-18" width
Upright, spreading, fast growing herb
This mint is perfect for containers and pairs well with basil, thyme, rosemary and ornamental grasses. Mint spreads vigorously, and I would only plant it in a container to prevent it from spreading out of control.
To keep this mint looking and tasting its best all season, here are some guidelines for care:
Water regularly. Avoid soggy soils. Do not allow to dry out completely.
Fertilize once a month with an All Purpose fertilizer.
Pinch regularly to encourage bushy growth and remove flowers to have best flavour.
Culinary Uses:
Herbal Teas - fresh or dried leaves in hot water
Cold drinks - add leaves to iced drinks
Desserts - finely chopped, added to desserts
Garnishes - whole leaves
Jams and syrups - infuse leaves into simple syrups
