Picea glauca
White Spruce is a classic Canadian evergreen valued for its exceptional cold hardiness, strong pyramidal form, and year-round structure. Native to northern climates, it is one of the most reliable trees for prairie landscapes, thriving where winters are long, winds are strong, and conditions can be challenging.
With dense green needles and a naturally symmetrical shape, White Spruce works beautifully as a windbreak, privacy screen, shelterbelt, or specimen tree. It also provides excellent wildlife habitat and winter interest, making it a cornerstone tree in many Saskatchewan landscapes.
